Deploying technologies for carbon-neutral mobility

Energy in Transport Forum 2024

Energy Ireland is organising the Energy in Transport Forum which is taking place on Thursday 8 February 2024 in Dunboyne Castle, Co Meath.

Energy Ireland has held energy in transport events on an ad hoc basis over the years. The 2024 Forum will focus on energy aspects of transport – although we sometimes touch on this in both Energy Ireland and Transport Ireland conferences we want to cover the issues in more depth.
Accelerating renewable energy use in transport
The transport sector emitted 12.0 MtCO2 in 2021 and accounted for 34% of Ireland's total energy emissions. Transport remained the most carbon intensive demand sector, with 95.5% of transport energy demand coming from fossil fuels in 2021. The picture is similar across Europe with renewable energy accounting for 10% in the transport sector, with Sweden leading the way with 34%.

The Forum will focus on the use of energy by the transport sector and how we can increase the amount of renewable energy used in the sector, either directly or through electrification – the electricity sector is generating increasing amounts from renewable sources, with a target of 80% by 2030.

Sponsorship & Exhibition

There are a limited number of opportunities for interested organisations to become involved with this conference as a sponsor or exhibitor. Sponsorship underlines leadership status within a sector and helps profile an organisation's activities and expertise in a sector. It is also often a springboard into the networking and informal strategic discussions from which major business opportunities arise. In exchange for sponsorship support the sponsor will receive an attractive package of benefits designed to maximise their organisation’s profile in front of this senior audience and leave a lasting impression upon the key decision-makers in attendance. For further information on how your organisation can benefit, contact Jillian Wallace on 01 661 3755 or email jillian.wallace@energyireland.ie.
